This experimental project delves into biomaterial research, driven by an open-ended approach to sustainable material design. By repurposing organic waste, including food scraps and textile fibers, combined with varying gelatin bases and natural binders, the research explores how discarded resources can be transformed into tactile, functional surfaces. The investigation balances rigorous formula testing with intuitive material exploration, inviting spontaneous elements into the recipes to push structural boundaries. Beyond rigid samples, the research successfully produced flexible, resilient bio-textiles capable of being sewn and manipulated, opening up new possibilities for low-impact product and textile applications.
